Creating Our Own Meaningful Music - Garage Band - Semester 1- 2012

Dec 5, 2012 7th Graders took a few days and analyzed a piece of music, and found meaning within their songs of choice. After, this the students were to create music of their own using the Garage Band application. More to follow...

How Does a Computer Work? - 6th / 7th Grade

Nov 19, 2012 6th and 7th graders will spend this week learning about the internal components of a computer. All students will have access to multiple links that teach about the structure and purpose of a computer's insides. Students are working in pairs to prepare presentations using Comic Life, Keynote, or Sketch Up to share their discoveries. There will be a quiz over what has been learned Monday November 26th.

Money Matters!!! - 8th Grade Study

Nov 19, 2012 We are spending just a few days studying about money. We are covering 4 main areas: 1) Goal Setting 2) Budgeting 3) Savings and 4) Megabyte Money. Students are working in pairs to pull the most important information from the informative text they and incorporate it into Keynote presentations to teach the rest of the class. We began the project on Monday the 12th, will continue on Tuesday the 13th and present as a group and take a quiz on Wednesday the 14th.

Project Extension Date - Nov 7

Nov 1, 2012 The 6th, 7th and 8th grade "Eco-friendly Buildings" and "What Springfield Needs.." projects are moving a little slower than anticipated. I discussed the issue with all students and we agreed to resolve this issue by extending the due date until Tuesday, November 6. Please, note this as it will most likely change student's prioritization of their assignments. The students will also presenting their projects and there will be a quiz over Google Sketch Up that day as well.
