About Me

Hello! I am Amy Strohman, the Life Skills Speech-Language Pathologist here at Lee school. This is my third year with district 186, and I love being a Lee Lion! I received both my bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science and my Master's degree in Speech-Lanaugage Pathology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I'm passionate about facilitating effective and appropriate communication at home, school, and vocational settings!

Communication

Communication is more than just speech. We communicate with our body language, facial expressions, gestures, and tone of voice. In speech and language therapy we use words, american sign language, pictures, gestures, and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) to communicate with one another. I encourage choices, as this is a fun and important way to communicate.
