Physical Education Lesson Goals/Standards
These are the State Goals for Physical Education. Activities throughout classes are intended to achieve the following standards and goals:
1. STATE GOAL 19: Acquire movement skills and understand concepts needed to engage in health-enhancing physical activity.
2. STATE GOAL 20: Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness based upon continual self-assessment.
3. STATE GOAL 21: Develop team-building skills by working with others through physical activity.
4. STATE GOAL 22: Understand principles of health promotion and the prevention and treatment of illness and injury.
Students will demonstrate various skills and participate in a variety of activities. We will monitor and evaluate performance and fitness levels. Students will identify concepts and principles associated with all health and skill-related activities. Students will learn and apply safe play procedures. Students will demonstrate sportsmanship and ccoperation through play. Participants will also learn to analyze and use strategies that promote successful performance.
