May 20, 2009 During the 2nd semester of this school year, kindergarten teachers at Butler started using part of the morning reading block for intervention groups by combining all three classes. The advantages of this type of scheduling were that children could be grouped to work on very specific literacy/phonemic awareness skills between six different teachers for a 20 minute block.
