Mar 1, 2013 Making Positive Decisions In all elementary classrooms, we have learned and practiced the bulk of our Relaxation Response lessons, and we are referring once again to our International Baccalaureate Learner Profile Attitudes and Attributes and the I.B. Think, Choose, Reflect Action Cycle to learn how to manage conflicts peacefully, set short term and long term goals, recognize and understand the difference in the consequences between negative and positive decisions. The Point

Jan 30, 2013 Iles Middle School students hope to organize, produce and direct an inspiring and uplifting musical comedy entitled, “The Point” in their Student Support Electives classes. This show encapsulates the values and character promoted through the Illinois State Standards and Benchmarks for Social and Emotional Learning and promotes the ideals of the "Everyone Matters" international campaign to promote tolerance and acceptance. Jan 30, 2013 In all Iles Student Support classes, we continue our discussions about stress reduction for the first 2 weeks in February, and then move back into the Together Times series for Making Positive Decisions. I hope the students are applying some of the stress reduction/ Relaxation Response techniques when they are stressed and if they have trouble falling asleep! Jan 2, 2013 HAPPY NEW YEAR! Grades 1-5 This quarter I will be teaching from the Benson-Henry Institute Educational Initiative from Harvard Medical School. If you hear your children talking about "relaxation station", "belly-breathing", the "turtle trick" or "fight or flight", it is part of our health series to teach and promote the following standards: Describe how different body parts work together. Nov 20, 2012 School Wide Thanks to everyone who is shopping at our Middle School Me to We Leadership Team FAIR TRADE STORE! We have some inventory left at sale prices, and will reorder after Thanksgiving.
