We have completed our Lion's Quest curriculum and we are reviewing and celebrating everything we've learned this year, including skills of negotiation, compromise, steps to making positive decisions, and prevention lessons (drug, alcohol, tobacco, personal safety, stranger danger, peaceful conflict resolution). The real test of what your child has learned in student support happens on the playground, on the bus, in the cafeteria, etc... I always tell the students that true integrity is how you behave when no one is looking.
I really appreciate how supportive you are of our service learning curriculum. Again, we won "The Big Dreamers Award" from Free the Children. We raised $1000.00 for our partner village in Kenya. We are helping with clean water and education initiatives. There are thank you letters in the downstairs hallway and Room 4. As an International Baccalaureate World School, we are committed to raising awareness and inspiring our students to take action to help make the world a better, more peaceful place. You and your children are making a HUGE difference!! THANK YOU!
Every 1st-5th grade student at Iles brought home their Together Times last week. This issue includes a double page spread with creative ideas for summer fun. I hope you take a look at it with your child. There is also a page where you may acknowledge your child's accomplishments. I hope you take the time to affirm his/her/their progress!
As I usually say, it is an honor and privilege to work with Iles staff, students and families each year. I am grateful for each and every one of you.
Have a great summer,
Mrs. Frachey
