Students will create a book analysis using Keynote. The class will read a novel. As we finish a short section of the book (1 to 3 chapters), I will have students work with a partner to create a summary of the section. Students will use higher level thinking skills, as I will require them to include the following information: plot, character analysis, conflict, setting, theme, irony (if applicable) and important quotes found in the section. Each section will have different literary element requirements. Students will be required to gather the information while they read the book. This information will be recorded, and saved, in a word document. Students will be given time in class to respond to their reading. Upon finishing their book, students will use all information gathered (thatâ ‚¬ „¢s been saved in a word document) to create their Keynote presentation. Students will receive 2-3 class periods to create the actual Keynote presentation, using the material theyâ ‚¬ „¢ve been recording and saving while reading their book. The entire unit should take approximately 3 weeks.
