Students will follow classroom instructions while reading the novel. After a predetermined number of chapters have been read, literary elements pertaining to that section of the book will be discussed. Over the course of the period while reading the book, students will be responsible for taking, and keeping, all notes and information discussed about the novel. Upon finishing the novel, students will work with a partner to present a book analysis, as a Keynote presentation. The analysis of the novel will include chapter highlights, setting, character analysis, conflict, theme, main events, climax, and resolution. Students will be given a checklist to guide them along the way. The checklist can be found on this module as an attachment.
