Accelerated Reading Program
Accelerated Reading Program or AR is a reading program that test the reading level of a student and allows students to take quizzes on the books they are reading independently. Each student has his/her own point goal, which is assigned to them through the AR program. Students are expected to achieve 50 percent of his/her goal by progress report time. The other 50 percent of the points are due at the end of the quarter. There is also a comprehension component that is worth 85 points each grading period. Quizzes can only be taken at school and if students do not take the on-line quizzes then they will not receive points.
