May 7, 2013 Last week, first grade students shared Lynn Reiser's story, "The Surprise Family". This heart warming story told of a little hen who was raised by a boy and then in turn, raised a family of ducklings. Students learned that sometimes families "aren't what you expect, but you love them anyway.

How To...Blow a Bubble!

"Bartholomew and the Oobleck!" Activity

Mar 22, 2012 Ms. Kopec taught a wonderful lesson that combined the reading strategies of predicting and noting details with the science of solutions and mixtures. Students listened to Dr. Seuss' tale of Bartholomew and the pesky oobleck mixture that taught the king about humility.
