They are reflecting about their 6th grade year here at Lincoln by creating a comic life. Students will pick out 4 different events from the past year, either good or bad. May 15, 2013 A and B Day Language and Literature- Students finished working on their assessment. They spent the hour actually writing their argumentative essay. I am hoping to have all of these grades posted by the end of the day on Friday. Homework- NONE

5/13/13 and 5/14/13 Lesson Plans and Homework

May 13, 2013 A and B Day Language and Literature- Students worked on the first day of their assessment. They spent the hour reading the given articles, writing their claim, and planning out their essay. They will be writing their essay during next class period.Homework- NONE

5/9/13 and 5/10/13 Lesson Plans and Homework

May 10, 2013 A and B Day Language and Literature- Students finished making the corrections that the other group gave them on their papers, then students read their papers a couple more times before I graded their papers. I was not as strict on the students grades because this is the first time they have written an argumentative paper. As they learn more in the years to come we will get more specific and increase our grading requirements. READ MORE

5/7/13 and 5/8/13 Lesson Plans and Homework

May 8, 2013 A and B Day Language and Literature- Students finish writing and started revising papers. Students will have other students read their paper before I will grade it. Next class period, we will be finishing revising and editing, plus going over the assessment that students will take next week, the assessment will be two days. They will be taking their assessment on it the week of May 13. Homework- NONE

5/1/13 and 5/2/13 lesson Plans and Homework

May 3, 2013 A and B Day Language and Literature- A-day classes- worked on writing cinquin poems about their water projects B-day Classes- Worked on continue to write their argumentative papers. Homework- NONE I was not in the classroom both of these days. Wednesday, I was at the State Fairgrounds with a group of 6th graders that presented for the EPA Earth day. Then, Thursday I was with my 8th grade students at the State History Fair EXPO competition.
