Eighth Grade Art Show

Apr 30, 2013 On May 14th, Iles families and friends will have the opportunity to enjoy, The Eighth Grade Art Show. Iles eighth graders have chosen their favorite works of art to be displayed. The gallery will be hung in the gymnasium and may be viewed prior to the Middle School Band Concert from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00p.m. Middle School Band Concert will follow from 7:00-8:00p.m. Please be our guest to take pleasure and appreciate the accomplishments of our eighth grade artists.

SIU Medical School Art Show

Apr 6, 2013 Grace T., eigth grade, and Natalie M., fifth grade have had their art work juried into the SIU Medical School Art Show on exhibit from April 29 thru May 17th. The opening reception of the show will be on Friday, May 3. Just another example of the great art work representing the many creative artists at Iles. Congratulations!

1900 GALLERY

Mar 4, 2013 Congratulations to Elisabeth S. and Erin B. These two elementary and middle school artists were chosen to represent the many talented artists at Iles with a piece of their art work hanging in the Springfield School District’s 1900 Gallery. Each Springfield school is asked to honor a student artist to represent their school. His/her art work is hung in a place of honor at the district’s office to be on display for one year. READ MORE

Personal Best Art Show

Feb 27, 2013 We welcome you to the annual Iles Personal Best Art Show. Thursday, March 7th from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. Every student in grades first through fifth at Iles has the opportunity to display a piece of his or her art work at this event. Students were encouraged to jury their own artwork and choose their “personal best “ piece. The main hallways outside the office at Iles will provide the gallery setting for this event. READ MORE

Lincoln Library Art Exhibit

Nov 27, 2012 Congratulations to the following students who will be representing the many talented artists at Iles with art work featured in the Lincoln Library Art Exhibit. Student artists with work in this in the exhibit are: Sofia Y. -1st grade Kailey E. -3rd grade Deneah D. -3rd grade Allison S. -fifth grade Grace T. -8th grade. The show can be viewed during regular library hours, starting mid-December through the month of January. We are very proud of the accomplishments of these students!

Pinwheels for Peace

Sep 9, 2012 We sent out our wishes for peace a day early! Pinwheels were planted on September 20th, due to the fact that students would not be in attendance on the 21st. In today’s world, peace needs to become more than just a word. On September 21, 2011, Iles Middle School students plan to take part in an International art installation, Pinwheels for Peace by “planting” pinwheels with the message of peace at the north entrance of Iles School. Take TIme to Appreciate

May 21, 2012 This summer why not invest some time in the cultivation of some art appreciation with your family. Take some time to go a museum, check out a book from the library, go to an art fair. Art can be found anywhere from galleries to gift shops, hanging in the dentist’s office or the bank, as well as, indoors to outdoor murals and sculptures.
