Language Arts

The students are working hard to increase fluency and phonemic awareness (the sounds of letters). The students are working on the new Language curriculum by Sopris west. The students seem to enjoy learning new aspects of the English language that they have never been exposed to before. Along with the students I am relearning some important Language information as well. This is a learning process that I am sure the students will benefit from greatly!

United States History

The students are learning about the development of the United States. Students take the time to read passages and answer questions about the United States. Also once a week we are going to pull out the 175th anniversary addition of the State Journal Register and learn about our wonderful city. Thank you to the Vacation Club for their wonderful donation of the State Journal Register for our class to use to learn about the history and current events in our city and our world!

Math

Make sure you are practicing your multiplication and division facts. This will not only help you in the classroom while we are working on math but it will help in many other aspects of life.
