Apr 18, 2013 1st Hour Algebra I: Today we went over several of the problems from the Two-Way Frequency Tables worksheet. The students then completed the backside of this worksheet. They turned this assignment in to be graded. Next, we began talking about Scatter Plots. We viewed a keynote with key concepts identified. Next, the students worked on an activity in which they plotted points and looked for patterns. READ MORE

Apr 17, 2013 1st Hour Algebra I: Today the students shared their survey with the class. The students then answered each of the surveys on a Two-Way Frequency Table. Next, everyone made a table in Pages or Numbers, displaying their information, including total amounts. They also included 3-5 questions that could be answered from their table. They should have sent this to me in my Inbox, so if they did not, they should take of this step for homework. READ MORE

Apr 11, 2013 1st Hour Algebra I: Today we checked and went over problem #3 on Worksheet 13.3 (page 795 at bottom of sheet), problem numbers 1-3, on Worksheet 13.3 (page 796 at bottom of sheet), and problem #1 on the Statistics Review handout. Next, the students had time to complete the statistics review. We checked and went over the answers to those problems, 2-5. For homework, the students should study the practice test, as the actual assessment will be tomorrow. READ MORE

Apr 10, 2013 1st Hour Algebra I: Today we checked and went over the Representations packet and problems 1 and 2 on Practice Worksheet 13.3. In addition, we discussed the process for finding the median in a Histogram, as well as describing the distribution. Finally, we began reviewing for a Statistics test. Apr 10, 2013 1st Hour Algebra I: Today the students reviewed Dot Plots, Bar Graphs, and Histograms by viewing a keynote on my website called Representations. Next, we worked through several of these types of problems together on the activity sheet called, Representation. We checked and went over them to ensure understanding. Mar 12, 2013 1st Hour Algebra I: Today we continued working with concepts from the new unit, Exponential Functions. We checked and went over problems 1-8, on Practice Worksheet 10.5. Next, we took notes by working through Study Guide and Intervention Worksheets, Lesson 10.6. We practiced setting up exponential growth equations, as well as compound interest formulas.
