Foster Grandparents Holiday Celebration

Dec 17, 2012 Our Foster Grandparents hosted their annual holiday luncheon at Northfield Center recently. The DuBois Choir was the special guest and performed a repertoire of Christmas songs. We currently have 28 Foster Grandparents serving in 16 schools.

Real Men Read Recognition Program

Mar 28, 2012 In March, the Real Men Read mentors were recognized for the investment they make into our children's lives each month. The mentors are a diverse group from business, government, medicine and local not-for-profits. Scholastic Regional Director Craig Hampton of Austin, Texas joined us for the program.

They Came With A Mind to Work

Aug 2, 2011 Volunteers from the north, south, east and west converged on Harvard Park again today to continue the work of ShareFest. Led by a team from West Side Christian Church, many of the volunteers painted the trim on the main staircase.

Feitshans Students Visit Fire Station #1

May 23, 2011 Ms. Chiles’ fifth grade class from Feitshans Academy took a field trip to Fire Station # 1 (9th and Capitol) with retired firefighter Mr. Phillip Harris, their mentor for Real Men Read.
