Board of Education Meeting Notice and Information, 8/3/20

The Board of Education, Springfield School District No. 186, will convene the Executive Session portion of the regular Board Meeting of Monday, August 3, 2020, at 5:30 p.m., in the Board Room of the Administrative Center, 1900 W. Monroe Street, as is presently scheduled. The public portion of the meeting is to begin at 6:00 p.m., also as presently scheduled.

Additionally, until further notice, Board of Education meetings will be held virtually through a Zoom webinar format, in an effort to adhere to State recommendations related to social distancing and gathering sizes. The majority of Board Members will participate remotely.

TO VIEW THE MEETING
The meetings will be available for public viewing through a live stream on YouTube at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/user/SPSchannel22 Members of the public interested in watching the meeting are encouraged to use the YouTube link to do so. A recording of each virtual meeting will also be posted on YouTube, as is the case with meetings currently.

The Board Room of 1900 W. Monroe Street will be open during the meeting. However, no more than 15 people shall be allowed into the Board Room during the meeting and social distancing rules shall be strictly enforced. Priority for in-person meeting attendance will be given to those without home internet service or a smartphone which would allow for viewing the live stream.

TO SPEAK DURING THE MEETING (PUBLIC PARTICIPATION)
Individuals interested in addressing the Board have the following options:

  • Register as a participant for the meeting webinar. A link to register as a participant for each meeting will be posted on the District website when the meeting agenda is posted.
  • Call in by phone, please contact Julie Hammers at the number listed above by 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting to utilize this option.
  • In-person participation in the Board Room of 1900 West Monroe Street
  • Or by emailing comments to boe@sps186.org. Please indicate in your email if you would like your comments read aloud during the meeting. Please note that the reading of written comments will adhere to the same time limits prescribed for spoken comments from other public participants.  

The link to register to speak during the August 3, 2020 meeting is https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_c8OXMxW_SB6-OFRaiLh9PQ  This link will be open for registration through the end of the public comment portion of the meeting. However, speakers are strongly encouraged to register in advance of the meeting start time. Prior to the meeting, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
