The main purpose of assessment is to improve student learning. Throughout the year, students will take a variety of school, district, and state assessments. These assessments either help educators prepare for student learning or provide information of student learning. In both instances, assessment involves an on-going process of gathering information about the knowledge and skills students possess, and then using this information to make instructional plans to improve student learning.
Beginning in the fall of 2017, our district began to administer the Measures of Academic Progress, or MAP assessment. The MAP is a formative assessment that is given three times per year to give teachers information on what students are ready to learn. This assessment adapts to each student's ability and helps monitor their individual growth over time. Please see the MAP information section of this webpage for more information.
Please see additional information on our website regarding updates on all district and state assessments.
