SAT is the New College Readiness Test

The SAT has replaced the ACT as the college readiness test at the high school level. In the 2016 - 2017 school year, The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) made the decision to change from the ACT to the SAT to ensure all students have equitable access to a no-cost college-entrance exam. ISBE will fund the SAT for all 11th grade students. Information regarding the ACT is available below for families of students who are interested in also taking the ACT. ACT registration, testing, and all associated fees and obligations are the responsibility of the student or his/her family.

ACT Practice Resources

ACT has released Full-Length Practice Tests, strategies to prepare for the test and what to expect on the test day in the above link:

The ACT assessment is a national college admission examination. The test measures English, Mathematics, Reading and Science Reasoning.

Questions on the ACT are based on what has been learned as part of your high school courses.

ACT results are used by colleges and universities to measure students' educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.

The ACT is provided free of charge as a component of the Prairie State Exam in April each year.

The ACT is also given additional times throughout the year. To register go to www.actstudent.org/regist/index.html
