I’m excited to welcome all of our students, staff and families back from our observance of Spring Break and into our remote learning space. Though this transition is like none we’ve experienced before, this week marks an opportunity for a fresh start for students to engage and take charge of their own learning. It is important that students and families are checking teachers’ webpages and having dialogue with teachers, assistant principals or the principal through email if they aren’t sure where to begin.
As we move to Remote Learning, we are asking students and families to engage with their child’s teacher(s) and complete learning activities while we stay at home and schools are closed in a manner that works for your family. Teachers will be posting where to find assignments and links to learning programs and class meetings on their websites. Teachers will explain how their class will operate, and the District will continue communication throughout the week. Additionally, many teachers have opted to use the Google Classroom Application or other learning applications to post assignments and interact with students and other teachers have implemented a new learning management platform called Canvas. More information on Canvas can be found at https://www.sps186.org/coronavirus/?p=136860. If you need assistance, please contact your student’s teacher(s) or principal.
