Senators show responsibility by following through and keeping commitments that they make.  If you are doing a group project, do your part. If you participate in a club or sport, attend all the meetings and practices. If you tell your family you will be home at a certain time, don’t be late.  When you keep your word, people will not only view you as responsible but also as someone they respect and rely on. Have a great week from Be A Senator.

Solon Olympics was worth the evening! Freshmen showed up with a ton of spirit. Sophomores might have been the loudest group of the night. Juniors decided to be competitive, since it isn't powderpuff, and the senior showed out big time.

The night started with Will Eichinger walking away as four corners champ and the night stayed in the seniors favor. Volleyball featured some close matches, but the senior came away with the first big game win of the night. The evening became more competitive after Pyramid building when the juniors beat out the freshmen by just .08 seconds to take the victory. It came down to the final event of the night, Tug of War. The seniors and juniors faced off to see who would win the tug and who would win the evening. The battle took nearly 20 second, but finally the seniors ripped out the juniors' hearts and walked away with the Solon Olympics victory. We will have another Solon Olympics later in the year, you missed out if you weren't there, Leardi wrestled a live tiger. It was awesome.

The soccer team defeated Quincy Notre Dame 4-0 last night. Max Pagliara, Anthony Davis, Mohammed Rashid and Val Martin scored for the Senators. Mason Durr earned the shutout. Mayango Jallah, Liam Doyle, Kai Rinaberger, Victor Rosas and Farhan Faizal played outstanding defence. Great effort from all the players.

The JV team won 3-0, getting a hat trick from Nyle Nguyen and a shutout from Jacob Sheftick.

The Lady Senator golf team finished 7th at the Regional held at ISU in Normal. SHS was led by Meher Garg and Samantha Cathers who both qualified for the Sectional on Monday. Congrats ladies.

The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Junior Varsity played Sacred Heart-Griffin and Williamsville yesterday and played well.  At doubles, the teams of Ithri Aissa/Lillian Bryjka, Eva Abraham/Maria DeJong, Giuliana Pianezza/Charlotte Potts, Lily Swanson/Eva Abraham and Evenanse Adoungbe/Charlotte Potts won.
