Food services available during Spring Break
District 186 Families,
During Spring Break, we will pause our grab-and-go meal distribution to allow our food service workers some well deserved time off along with the rest of our District 186 staff. We are fortunate that our community partner McDonald’s has graciously offered an alternative option for students in need during this time by providing a limited number of punch cards to redeem free meals to bridge the gap. On Friday, April 3, at all of our meal distribution sites, those who drive up will receive a punch card while supplies last.
The punch cards will be good for a free breakfast and lunch from any Springfield McDonald’s location on the weekdays of our Spring Break Monday, April 6, through Friday, April 10 and on Monday, April 13, during the hours of 10 AM to 2 PM. Families must present the cards each time to receive meals. They will receive both a bagged breakfast and lunch via drive thru or carry out.
Central Illinois Food Bank will also be providing basic groceries for 500 families. These will be available for pick up on a first come, first served basis follows:
– Tuesday, April 7: Addams Elementary, 10 AM to 12 Noon
– Wednesday, April 8: Washington Middle School, 10 AM to 12 Noon
– Thursday, April 9: Starbucks at 3412 Freedom Drive, 10 AM to 12 Noon
