Dubois First graders had a GREAT first week of 'hands on' learning!
Students read The Kissing Hand, by Audrey Penn, and then worked together to solve multiple challenges which involved Hershey's chocolate Kisses. Shapes and solid figures were created out of Kisses and toothpicks, floatable boats were 'built' with foil Kisses wrappers, and predictions were made about melting Kisses!
More sweet studies took place as our young Dragons participated in the Save Fred challenge, which involved working together to design a plan to get a gummy Lifesaver, trapped under a cup, around a gummy worm, perched on top of the cup!
