Note From The Principal:

February 1, 2012

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your support during our family events! Our parent educator, Carlis Thomas, and the FACE team work hard to bring an event to our families that is worth your time and energy and it's very rewarding when families take advantage of that effort. We have several opportunities for families to engage in this month as well as other programs you may need to engage in. February 2nd and 3rd there is no school for students. The 2nd is our second parent teacher conference day and the 3rd is a teacher inservice. This parent teacher conference is dedicated to students who are below grade level, but if you have a specific need, please contact your teacher about setting up a time for a conversation.

February 7th we will be hosting an ISAT night for all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade families and on the 8th we will be hosting an inservice on Breakthrough to LIteracy for kdg. families. There will be no school on Monday, February 13th and Valentine parties will be held on the 14th beginning at 2:00. Students are allowed to bring valentine cards, but should be cognizant to be sure all students receive one. On February 16th, all elementary schools across the district will be hosting kindergarten night.  If know a child who will be 5 years old before September 1st, they should attend the K-night that is considered their boundary or home school. Families will get the opportunity to meet kindergarten teachers as well as the principal and visit the classrooms.

Last, but not least, on Saturday, March 3rd, PTO is sponsoring an ISAT kickoff @ Applebee's from 8:00 - 10:00. Be looking in your Tuesday folders for information on how to purchase tickets for a pancake breakfast that morning.

Thank you for all you do!
