The Sangamon Astronomical Society, a group of amateur astronomy enthusiast, invites the public to view the sky through their telescopes.
You Will See: the Moon, Saturn, Mars, Star Clusters, Double Stars, How a Telescope Works and The Scale of the Solar System.
It is the 12th Anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope. (The HST has beamed hundreds of thousands of images back to earth, shedding light on many of the great mysteries of the universe.)
Where: Centennial Partk, Springfield, Illinois
When: Starts at 7:00 - 11:00 PM (weather permitting)
Dress: Make sure you bring warm outer clothes for the cool night air.
Who: Bring the family and questions (If it is raining or the sky is overcast the event will be rescheduled.
