Dear Parents,

I hope this season has brought you many memories that fill you with joy and thanksgiving. Seldom a day goes by that I am not met by a student in the hallway who is bright, cheerful and excited to be at school. It is days like that that fill me with joy and thanksgiving. Thank you for sending your child to school every day ready to learn and excited to be here.

We have had some great things happen around Dubois the first 70+ days that I hope your child has shared with you. We had Dot Day in late September, our Reader's Ball where we dressed up like our favorite characters and several PBIS celebrations for students who are referral free. Additionally, we had a grandparents breakfast that was bursting at the seams and our student of the week breakfasts every week for those students who are good citizens. Your fundraisers along with Title I funds help support those events.

Just as a reminder: we do go outside every day unless the "feels like" temperature is 20 degrees or below. Please dress your child appropriately with hats, gloves and coats. We also have a pretty active lost and found - please do not hesitate to frequent it.

Lastly, we know that emergencies happen and students need to have their dismissal routine adjusted from time to time. Please keep in mind that with over 500 students attending here, we do have several emergencies that exist for families. If you are changing your child's dismissal procedure more than once a week it is very difficult for us to assure we get the message to the child on time. Therefore, creating a predetermined schedule is very helpful to both the student and us. Please consider doing this.

Thank you for everything you do!
Cindy J. Baugher, principal
