This is a Friendly Reminder for Dubois Families,

Dubois Elementary School has artwork that will be presented by four of our student’s. Kalei Hazelwood is a 5th grader in Ms. Miller’s room, Garrett Rees is a 4th grader in Mrs. McCloud’s room, Rueben Densmore is a 4th grader in Mrs. Rectenwal’s room and Maria Anselment is a 1st grader in Ms. Howard’s room. Their art will soon be on display at SIU School of Medicine. Each year, art teachers from Sangamon County Schools, have the opportunity to submit up to four artworks to enter in this show. The show exhibits artwork selected from kindergarten through high school.

This show originated as an opportunity for medical students to be exposed to the developmental stages of children’s art. This yearly show exposes to all that view it, the different developmental levels of children as they pass through the stages and skills involved in art production. The show brings joy and beauty to all those touched by the student’s artwork. Thank you for supporting your student in their artistic pursuits and understanding the importance of art in our community.

There will be an opening reception at the School of Medicine on Friday, May 3, 2013 - from 4:15 - 5:00 pm in the lobby on the 2nd floor at 801 North Rutledge Street, Springfield, IL. Generally, students and their families come with time to look at all of the artwork. An awards ceremony starts at 4:45 pm in the South Auditorium, where your student will be presented an award time and photos will be taken.

**The exhibit will be on display weekdays until 4:30 p.m. beginning April 29 and ending May 17, 2013.

This is truly a great HONOR! Please call if you have other questions.
