Dear Parents –
Thanks for a great start to the 2009-10 school year! Our enrollment so far this year hovers around 485 students and our average daily attendance is 97%. I appreciate your efforts at getting your children to school on time so we can use every possible moment to teach.  Students can arrive at school at 8:10 each morning to either wait on the blacktop or eat breakfast. Students are not allowed at school prior to 8:10!!
I appreciate your patience regarding our dismissal procedures as well.  I realize that the traffic pattern is congested and at times unsafe for our children. We are in contact with the Springfield City engineer to develop options for better dismissal patterns. It is best if you park you car in a legal parking space and walk up to retrieve your child. This may mean that you need to park a block away, but it is by far the fastest option.
Do you want to help your child reach their academic potential? If so it is important for you to show them you value what they are doing in school. Ask them about their day but additionally go over their competed work with them and listen to them read at night. Setting a specific time every night to read or do school related activities will help your child achieve their potential. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like additional ideas.
Thank you –
