Note from the Principal

January 27, 2009

Thanks so much for all your support through our PTO, volunteering and supporting our family events. Most importantly thank you for supporting your child in their journey through academic success. Please contact your child's teacher through email or phone to check up on your child's progress if you would like more information on how to help your child at home.
As most of you know, we are a Title I school. This means we are allowed federal resources due to our percentage of low income students. In addition to 3 ½ people Title I pays for, it also has supported the new computer lab on the upper level which includes 24 new computers, tables, chairs and a projector for teaching. In addition it also supports our work with families and targeted students at our early grades.
I appreciate your patience with our dismissal issues on Lincoln Street. The city has been issuing tickets for those people not following the designated pick up/drop off procedures. Due to the safety of our children we are asking that you pick up your child nearest the school rather than having them cross the street.
The Illinois State Achievement Testing (ISAT) will be March 3rd and continue through the13th for all 3rd - 8th graders in Illinois. Please be sure your child gets enough sleep each night as well as gets to school on time so they do not feel rushed.
