Arts for the Ages 

An Art Exhibit of Springfield District # 186  Students 

The Springfield and Central Illinois African American History Museum  (AAHM) is pleased to announce the opening on January 15, 2022, of Art  for the Ages, an exhibit of art from Springfield District # 186 students  first through twelfth grades. The art being exhibited includes drawings,  paintings in tempera, oil, and watercolor and three-dimensional figures.  The AAHM had the art pieces expertly framed and mounted for this  outstanding display of student artistic talent. The exhibit is supported  through the Community Grants Program from Community Foundation  for the Land of Lincoln. 

"The student art exhibit is the AAHM tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  and is excited to open the exhibit on his birthday, January 15", said  Carolyn Farrar, Board President of the Springfield and Central Illinois  African American History Museum. 

The AAHM is free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday,  Noon to 4:00PM and is located at 1440 Monument Ave., Springfield. The  art exhibit will be available at the museum through March 2022. Visit our  website at www.spiaahm.org
