Good Morning GMS students and staff and Welcome to another edition of the morning announcements. I’m Mr. Hood and this is Mr. Hoffek are we are coming straight at you from the GMS studios!
Today is Monday Morning Madness! We’ve got birthday, no-hitters, and some pricy hair. But first, no matter what your last name is, today is an asynchronous day for you! Everyone is to go on canvas and log in to each of your classes, including advisory, to complete any work that has been assigned. On Saturday, Marshall H, Donnesha H, Khyrin M, and Diego S. had birthdays. Larenzia M, Deakon Z, and Morgan S celebrated on Sunday. Jah-Quareaontay M and Carlia C celebrate today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Yesterday, Alec Mills of the Cubs threw the second no-hitter in the major leagues this year. This is the first no-hitter for the Cubs since 2016… When the won the world series.
Lastly in Monday morning madness, a lock of President Abraham Lincoln’s hair sold for over $81,000! I know what I would do with $81,000, and it has nothing to do with hair, or Abe Lincoln.
Now lets stand for the pledge of allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.
You may be seated. Let us pause for a moment of silence. Use this time to personally reflect on ways you can be successful today.
Today’s weather includes sunny skies with a high near 80 degrees
In sports, the Cubs beat the Brewers and the Cardinals lost to the Reds.
In NBA news, the Nuggets shocked the Clippers and have tied the Western Semifinals at 3-3.
On the women’s side, Dallas beat New York, Las Vegas beat Seattle, and Washington beat Atlanta.
And the NFL is back in action! DA BEARS came back to beat the Lions and Green Bay beat the Vikings.
Good luck to the GMS baseball as they face Christ the King today!
For breakfast and lunch today, the cafeteria has prepared a bowl of cereal and ham-n-cheese sandwiches. Remember, breakfast and lunch can be picked up in the parking lot behind GMS from 7:00-11:30. If you aren’t going to eat your food right away, be sure to store it in the fridge and then heat it up when you are ready to eat.
And now for today’s Welcoming Ritual. What was the highlight of your weekend? We know that you most likely aren’t meeting with your teachers today, but its always good to reflect on your weekend.
And that wraps it up for today’s announcements. A big SHOUT OUT to Aubrey M. from Mrs. Buckles! Great job helping your fellow classmates and participating in class! Until next time everyone…
Work hard and be safe!
