Good morning Grant Middle School, today is Friday, August 23rd  2019


Monday we kick off Drop Everything & Read — Make sure you have a book to read with you every period — next week we will read  M - W - F — Read something YOU like!!!!


Beta Members: T-Shirt designs are due Friday, August 30th. Please turn designs in to Miss Gibbs in room 219 or Mrs. Buckles in 203. Also, do not forget about the parent meeting on Wednesday from 5:00-5:20. You and your parent/guardian must be in attendance.


Reminder to all 6th graders you must have your physical and all vaccinations completed by September 3rd 2019 or you will be excluded from attending school until. Get to the doctor and get your shots and physical ASAP!


Meet the Teacher Night - August 28th from 5:30 - 7:00— start in gym then parent follow schedule


Back to school dance Thursday , August 29th 2:30 - 4:00 — This will be an out of dress code day for $2.00 — payable in advisory that morning — The dance is $2.00 and we will have a concession stand selling snacks & drinks.


 Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 —  Here at Grant we are" On Time and Ready to Learn Every Day! "…. because it matters and so do YOU!


Tardy and dress code enforcement start on Monday — you hear the music you need to hustle !!!!! Being on time matters, every minute counts


7th graders had best attendance Thursday at 95% followed by 8th graders at 90% and 6th grade you have work to do at 87% — whole building was at 90% - we need you here, it makes a difference 

Teacher attendance was 100% Thursday


The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:


Brushes, picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.


Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time  and remind them of the policy— Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA 


Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.


Cafeteria - raise your hand, push in chair, pick up trash , throw away trash and stack your trays today and every day!


 - Purses and fanny packs are NOT  allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school 



 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school. 


 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "

 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas locate at Chatham Road / Stange & Amos 

 Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!
