 Drop Everything & Read — Make sure you have a book to read with you every period — we will be reading today — Read something YOU like!!!!  Ms. Bentsen is Reading the Classic" Pride and Prejudice “ by Jane Austen


Learning lab will start next week on Tuesday & Thursday after school — make sure you have a signed Learning Lab pass & work to do. All students must be signed in by 2:40 — Know what activity bus you need to ride  — we only have 3 buses to choose from - bus stop sheets can be found in bookshelf in main lobby.


Boys baseball dropped a game last night in a hard fought loss to Calvary 6-4. Tayton Meyer went 2-3 , Carter Hood was 1-3 and Aiden Heidenrich went 1-4. Kyler Knox pitched 2 scoreless innings & Sam Foys pitched 1 scoreless inning striking out 3!! Good game boys keep working hard


Calling all artists! If you are interested in signing up for art club, please come down to room 02 today for a permission slip and information about how to join. There are a limited number of spots so please make sure you read the permission slip for full information. All permission slips and art submissions should be returned by Friday, September 6th to be considered. Come down to where the fun happens in room 02!


Any student that would like to join IMSA for the 2019-2020 school year needs to pickup and application from Mrs. Monahan in room 221 and return it by Friday, August 30th.  


Beta Members: T-Shirt designs are due Friday, August 30th. Please turn designs in to Miss Gibbs in room 219 or Mrs. Buckles in 203. 


Reminder to all 6th graders you must have your physical and all vaccinations completed by September 3rd 2019 or you will be excluded from attending school until . Get to the doctor and get your shots and physical ASAP!


 Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 —  Here at Grant we are" On Time and Ready to Learn Every Day! "…. because it matters and so do YOU!


Tardy count 8th grade 5 — 6th grade 7 & 7th grade15 tardies — This is more like it!!! Nice job getting to class thank you 


 8th graders both had 88%% attendance Thursday, followed by 7th grade at 94%    & 6th grade with 93% — whole building was at 92% - we need you here, it makes a difference 

Teacher attendance was 100% Thursday


The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:


Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.


Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time  and remind them of the policy— Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA 


Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.


Cafeteria - raise your hand, push in chair, pick up trash , throw away trash and stack your trays today and every day!


 - Purses and fanny packs are NOT  allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school 


 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school. 


 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "

 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas locate at Chatham Road / Stange & Amos /// If crossing at Stange w/ the crossing guard you must wait behind him and wait for him to give okay

 Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!
