Good morning Grant Middle School, today is Friday, September 6th  2019


 Drop Everything & Read — Make sure you have a book to read with you every period — we will be reading  M-W-F next week — Read something YOU like!!!!  


Next Wednesday is 9/11 we will honor and show respect by wearing Red, White  & Blue — if you are out of dress code must be school appropriate “no holes in jeans , no short shorts — This is a remembrance day to show and give respect


 Board Game Club will meet Monday after school in the cafeteria.


Learning lab will be open next week T & Th— make sure you have a signed Learning Lab pass & work to do. All students must be signed in by 2:40 — Know what activity bus you need to ride  — we only have 3 buses to choose from - bus stop sheets can be found in bookshelf in main lobby .

Attention Beta members: Your first meeting is on Monday from 2:30-4. 8th graders will meet in 219 and 7th graders will meet in 203. Make sure you make arrangements to be picked up unless you are riding the activity bus. See Mrs. Buckles or Miss Gibbs if you have any questions.


Calling all artists! If you are interested in signing up for art club, please come down to room 02 today for a permission slip and information about how to join. There are a limited number of spots so please make sure you read the permission slip for full information. All permission slips and art submissions should be returned by Friday, September 6th to be considered. Come down to where the fun happens in room 02!


Grant baseball tried to comeback late in an 8-3 lost to Christ the King.
Caden Van de Velde drove in the first run for the Generals going 2 for 2.
Tayton Meyer, Sam Foys ,and Aiden Heidenreich also went 2 for 4.
Tayton Meyer pitcher 4 strong innings striking out four batters. Carter Hood finished the game with a scoreless inning scoreless inning.
Aiden Heidenreich also threw out 4 base runners.


 Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 —  Here at Grant we are" On Time and Ready to Learn Every Day! "…. because it matters and so do YOU!


Tardy count 8th grade  6— 7th grade 11 & 6th grade 30  tardies — Being on time and ready to learn is a daily expectation at Grant 


 8th graders had 91 % attendance Tuesday, followed by 7th grade at 86% & 6th grade with 87 % — whole building was at 88% - we need you here, it makes a difference 


Teacher attendance was 92% Thursday


The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:


Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.


Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time  and remind them of the policy— Hoodies must be school issued, sport , club or activity or a state series competition from IESA 


Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.


Cafeteria - raise your hand, push in chair, pick up trash , throw away trash and stack your trays today and every day!


 Fundraiser begins Friday. Teachers have all been given instructions


 - Purses and fanny packs are NOT  allowed to be worn or taken to class at Grant middle school 


 Students this is  “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and from school. 


 The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "

 Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas locate at Chatham Road / Stange & Amos /// If crossing at Stange w/ the crossing guard you must wait behind him and wait for him to give okay

 Would you please now rise for the Pledge of Allegiance!
