PE shed fundraiser this week : we will be having a spare change war for students during lunch. All classes who raise over $200 will be able to throw pies in the faces of our beloved PE teachers. Students will be chosen to throw at random from the Purple Positives. Your support in this is GREATLY appreciated!! thank you from the PE Dept.
“We are starting purple positive rewards through Mrs. Montooth on Wednesdays before or after school. This will be similar to what we did last year for General Jackpot cards but you get to choose your reward! You will turn in a certain amount of purple positives to redeem your chosen rewards. Remember this is BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAYS, GO SEE MRS. MONTOOTH IN THE GYM TO REDEEM YOUR PRIZE
October is Breast Cancer awareness month. To help support fighters and survivors, the Beta kids are making chemo care bags for current patients and are raising money to donate to Breast Cancer Research. The Beta club is also selling Breast Cancer Awareness shirts. Buy one in the lobby at lunch for $10. If you buy a new breast cancer awareness shirt, you can wear jeans every Friday during the month of October to help support Breast Cancer survivors and fighters.
Some rewards are:
- Out of uniform- 60 purple positives
- Chips- 15 purple positives
Mechanical pencil- 5 purple positives
- Candy- 10 purple positives
- Soda- 20 purple positives
- Popcorn- 15 purple positives
- Tardy pass- 20 purple positives
- Go to lunch early - 30 purple positives
- free homework pass- 45 purple positives
- 5 minute extra recess time- 50 purple positives
Reminder BETA club members: September hours are due THIS Friday. This is also a reminder that your next meeting is Monday. Please make sure to bring your supplies for the Chemo Care Bags.
Drop Everything & Read — Make sure you have a book to read with you every period — we will be reading Friday 5th period -next week Tue. & Thu — Read something YOU like!!!!
(Learning lab is cancelled tonight it will return next week) this week after school— make sure you have a signed Learning Lab pass & work to do. All students must be signed in by 2:40 — Know what activity bus you need to ride — we only have 3 buses to choose from - bus stop sheets can be found in bookshelf in main lobby .
Reminder students school starts at 8:00 every day — the building opens for breakfast at 7:30 — Here at Grant we are" On Time and Ready to Learn Every Day! "…. because it matters and so do YOU!
Tardy count 8th grade 6— 7th grade 14 & 6th grade tardies 7— Fantastic Job Being on time 7th & 8th grade ready to learn is a daily expectation at Grant
8th graders had%92 attendance Monday followed by 7th grade at 93% !!!!!! & 6th grade with % 92— whole building was at 92% - Awesome job students !!!!! much appreciated we need you here, it makes a difference .

The following are daily reminders of behavior expectations and Grant rules:
Brushes , picks, combs, etc…. hair products are not allowed or too be used in class or hallways — Please keep in locker put away during the day.
Grant is a uniform school —advisory teachers please check students for uniform violations at this time please send to 121 A for corrections
Students the expectation in the hallway is to use appropriate language at all times— We are at school, be mindful of the language and respectful if corrected.
Students Cell phones are not allowed to be on you during the school day , they MUST be turned off and concealed . Cell phones that are taken are subject consequences and parent pick up in order to return
Students this is “our “ school, please show respect to building and grounds, by using trash cans and doing your part to keep Grant looking it’s best. Remember to be respectful of others property to and home from school.
The expectation at Grant is to keep your hands and feet to yourselves, at all times during the school day and on the way to and home from school— This means no “Play Fighting "
Students for your safety please only cross at the designated crosswalk areas locate at Chatham Road / Stange & Amos
