Monday, May 3 - Smiles!
On this asynchronous day, ask your student to put together a card or poster or sign expressing appreciation for one or more teachers or staff members, and then take a picture - hopefully including your student's smiling face - and email it or send it through Canvas to the teachers and staff who make Iles special for your student!
Tuesday, May 4 - Peace!
Remote students can celebrate one of our central principles by sharing a favorite memory from the year with their teacher; hybrid students can choose to be extra kind at school to help make a peaceful day.
ALSO: WEAR RED on Tuesday (National Teacher Day) to show our support for educators!
Wednesday, May 5 - Send a note!
While an email is nice, there is nothing more meaningful than a handwritten note - from students or parents! - expressing appreciation for all the extra effort our teachers and staff have undertaken this year. (Remote students can always take a picture of a note and email it, or send an e-card!)
Thursday, May 6 - Short Answers!
We all know it's easier to fill in the blanks than to face a blank sheet of paper. Here's a free printable to help your student express appreciation to favorite teachers: https://www.thesuburbanmom.com/2015/04/30/thank-you-teacher-free-printable/__;!!DZ3fjg!rDnCMF-MqfarPT0TJ6Mjy8J_yEgWugXJn4R6ZJH8jL5wXh9SNsyCQ60zrm3VoA$" rel="noopener" target="_blank"> https://www.thesuburbanmom.com/2015/04/30/thank-you-teacher-free-printable/
Friday, May 7 - Blooms!
Whether virtual or real, each flower reflects a different student, and one of the many ways our teachers and staff members have gone above and beyond. If you're in person, bring a flower (of any kind!) for each of your favorite teachers or staff members; if you're virtual, draw (whether manually or digitally) a flower and send a picture of it to your favorite teacher(s) or staff member(s)!
