We are celebrating Black History month at Jefferson Middle School! How? Just look at the list of February's activities!

February 1st - 28th
Interactive Bulletin Board Display

Be sure to check out the interactive bulletin board in the main lobby.

February 4th, 11th, 18th
February Book Study

Join us after school in the library for our book study! We will be reading and discussing The Watsons Go To Birmingham. Snacks will be served.

February 13th - 28th
Annual African-American Ernestine Lawrence Heritage Bowl

Teams from each history class will compete against each other answering questions about Black History. Guests from our community have volunteered to be moderators for the competition. The championship rounds will be held in the JMS gym on Friday, February 28th from 9-11AM.

February 13th
A Taste of Black History

Students and parents are invited to join us in the library during lunch shifts and sample an authentic southern cooked meal. The menu includes fried chicken, black-eyed peas, yams, cornbread, and peach cobbler!

February 20th
Black History Movie Night

All students and their families are invited to attend movie night! We will be showing The Watsons Go To Birmingham in the JMS gym from 6-8PM. Dinner will be served so return your RSVP as soon as possible.
