The Looking Glass Project

April 10, 2014

Congratulations to Mya H., Amanda D., Jaylynn M., Carolyn B., Kaylee W., & Tiana G. on being selected to participate in The Looking Glass Project!

The Looking Glass Project is a program created by Appearances Salon and the Share the Spirit Foundation. The mission of this program is to build the self-esteem and self-confidence of young women in our community. A special thank you to Mr. Bernie Koch and Ms. Tanya Voepel for coordinating the program.

Each young woman who was interested in participating in this program was required to compose a 100-word essay answering the following.
1. Tell about yourself.
2. Why do you want to participate in The Looking Glass Project?
3. What do you expect to gain from the experience?
4. How will you use the skills you have learned in a positive way in the future?
5. What are some ways you plan to give back to your community?

Each of these young women will have the opportunity to go to Appearances Salon and learn from the pros! There will be three Saturday sessions in which the participants will learn about nail care, skin care and hair & makeup during the month of May.

A parent meeting for those involved will be held on Thursday, May 15th, at 5:30PM at Appearances Salon.
