Fire Explorer Post Information

October 27, 2014

Springfield Fire Department
Explorer Post 300
Firefighter's I.A.F.F. Local #37

Fire Explorer Post 300 is open to students aged 14-21 who are currently enrolled in an educational institution (high school, college, technical school). Exploring is an informative and exciting way to help you prepare for the future while under the guidance of qualified adult instructors.

You and your parents/guardians are invited to attend a Firstnighter on November 19, 2014 from 7-8:30PM to learn how fire exploring works. This event will be held at the Children's Safety Village located at 4521 S. 11th St in Springfield (west of UIS, situated between the soccer and softball fields on the west side of the street). Attendance is mandatory to be considered for membership in the Post.

If you decide to join, we will collect $25.00, which is the annual enrollment fee for Exploring. As an Explorer, you will learn important skills such as team building, public speaking, interviewing, and numerous fire service related techniques. You will also learn how to organize your time to accomplish tasks for school and extracurricular activities.

In order to aide us in planning the Firstnighter, please let us know if you plan to attend by using the contact information at the bottom of this article. Also, check out the website www.exploring.learningforlife.org and click on the fire service icon for more knowledge.
