On May 9, 2018, Miss Lindsey Moore was recognized by Horace Mann Educators and Springfield Public Schools as a "Rising Star." The Rising Star award was given to three promising teachers who have been with the District four years or less. Miss Moore received $250 and a plaque.
Miss Moore is a "true star, and we are lucky to have her at Jefferson. She has a true passion for teaching. It is seen every day in her work ethic and classroom. She works countless hours to better our school community and strengthens our students' minds" according to one nominator.
Miss Moore has been at JMS for three years and already plays an integral and active role at the school. Her dedication continues long after the school day ends. She tutors the Brain Boosters, co-teaches IMSA Fusion, and is a member of the AVID Site Team, Advisory Committee, and the Out of the Blue Holiday Baskets Committee. Plus, she's working toward her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction.
Miss Moore, we are proud of you!
