All JMS students will be taking the MAP test, the Measure of Academic Progress test, beginning next week. Please keep in mind that this is a progress monitoring tool that allows teachers to design instruction around students’ strengths and deficits. This is not for a grade in the grade book.
The Reading MAP assessment will be given on Monday, October 19th by your student’s Literature teacher beginning at 8AM.
The Math MAP assessment will be given on Monday, October 26th by your student’s Math teacher beginning at 8AM.

- On Monday, October 26th at 8AM, all students should report to their Math teacher's Canvas course where they will find the NAME of the test session as well as the PASSWORD for the test session.
After you have written down your Test Session Name and Password, you are ready to login to MAP.
IF YOU ARE USING A JMS CHROMEBOOK
If you are a student using a Jefferson Chromebook, log out of Canvas and Chrome. You must return to the Chromebook start-up login screen. You will access the MAP assessment by going to the Apps Tray at the bottom of the Chromebook login screen. Click on the Apps Icon and select NWEA Secure Testing.
Here is a link to a page with a video with step-by-step instructions.
IF YOU ARE USING A HOME DEVICE
If you are a student using a home device, you will need to open your browser and go to https://test.MAPnwea.org. This link will take you directly to the MAP login screen where you will enter the Test Session Name and Password.
If you see a screen that says "Oops! Where's my test window?," a pop-up blocker is most likely the reason it is not working. Please click on the link How To: Disable Pop-Up Blocking and disable your pop-up blocker. Once you have done this, you should be able to click on Student Login and type in your test session name and password.
You can also benefit from watching the video linked above. Just start watching from the part about entering your test session name and password.
