Respect yourself. • Respect others. • Respect property.

It is never ok to be disruptive. It is never ok to be hurtful.

Teachers ~ Please check dress code. Anyone out of dress code should be sent to Guidance. Also, check planners to make sure each student has her/his planner and not someone else's planner. THANKS!

On this day in 2001, terrorists struck on US soil. At 8:48AM a passenger jet crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. At 9:06AM another plane hit the World Trade Center's South Tower. At 9:43AM the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. was hit by another jet airliner. A few minutes later a fourth jet crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. In honor of those who lost their lives on that day, September 11th is now known as Patriots' Day.

Main Entree: Chicken Fajitas; French Fries
Tomorrow's Breakfast: Poptarts or Yogurt

Students ~ You must sit on the correct side of the cafeteria. Lunch detentions will be given if you are on the wrong side!

Thank you to everyone who sold items for the fundraiser! If you still have fundraiser items, please turn them in today. Some of you will be called down to the office to make your prize choice.

It is very important that you come to school everyday! Come to school and be prepared to learn each and every day of the school year. We need to maintain at least a 90% attendance rate for meeting AYP.

Cheerleading tryouts will be next Tuesday and Wednesday, September 16th & 17th. Tryouts will be from 2:30-4PM. There will be an activity bus available. We will be going outside so dress appropriately. You must prepare a short sideline cheer by Wednesday. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Eastwood in room 117 or Mrs. Orama in room 102. If you do not attend both days of tryouts, you will not be considered for the squad.

Please get your physical forms turned in as soon as possible. Time is running out and we don't want any students to be excluded from school.

No passes should be issued during class time! If students are found in the hallway, they will be escorted back to your room.

Whenever you have a guest teacher, you are to show him/her the same respect as you would your regular teacher. The guest teacher knows the BIST procedures. If you are asked to go to the Safe Seat, you must move to the Safe Seat. If you must be removed from the classroom, you will be escorted to room 109 and issued two after-school detentions.

After the 2:30PM dismissal bell, you must hustle on out to the buses. Once the buses leave, they cannot be called back. The buses have more routes to run for other schools after he/she finishes your route.

The Illinois State Museum Tech Academy is currently recruiting students. The program begins on Monday, September 15th and will end in March of 2009. Students will meet twice a week to explore areas of interest in the natural sciences, archaeology, and information technology at the Illinois State Museum and at the Museum's Research and Collections Center. Students also go on field trip to natural areas, museums, and colleges.

Students will be selected based on their application materials, including a letter of recommendation. This is a free program. All activities, meals, snacks, transportation during field trips, and materials are provided at no cost to students or their families.

More information is available in the main office.
