Remember ~ Your day is what you make it. Let’s make it a great one!

Even if the label on a food says it has zero trans-fats, it could still contain trans-fats if the words "partially hydrogenated" are in the ingredient list. Food companies convinced the government to allow them to say there are zero grams of trans-fats even if there is up to 1/2 gram per serving. Many foods that contain trans-fats are foods that people tend to eat multiple servings of. For example, one type of popular snack food that has tras-fats - but says zero on the label - comes in a bag with 9 servings. Many people eat half or the whole bag eventhough it is supposed to be shared among nine people. The amount of trans-fats might be small enough to not be counted for the label, but it's best to avoid trans-fats completely.

At JMS, we follow and enforce the District Dress Code Policy. Therefore, “hats, caps, bandannas, sweatbands, sunglasses, pajama pants, slippers, or shoes with wheels attached to the bottom shall not be worn in the buildings.”

All earbuds and headphones must be removed and placed in your pocket or binder once you enter the building. You may not wear them around your neck. You may not wear them under your clothing. They will be taken away from you.

Students may NOT take photos or videos while on the school grounds. There are several JMS students who may not be photographed or videoed by law. If you are asked to stop or asked to surrender your phone, you must comply. If you do not, your parent/guardian will be called and will have to come to school.

Make sure you have your locker information and combinations. Lunch interventions/detentions will be issued for those who continually come to the office. You may NOT leave your binders or book bags on the floor by your locker. If you do, your bag or binder will be taken to the lost and found by the gym.

There is too much trash being thrown on the ground after breakfast and after lunch. If you take food items outside, you MUST place your trash in the trashcans. If the extreme littering continues, no snack items will be sold during lunch shifts.

If you are in the hallway during class time, you must have a pass or e with a supervising adult. NO exceptions!

You only have 12 bathroom passes per quarter. Use them wisely. Do not walk out of class if your teacher asks you to wait.

No Birthdays Today!

Please do not send balloons, flowers, candy, cupcakes, etc. to celebrate student birthdays. Students should not wear birthday tiaras, sashes, buttons, etc. as these items are not part of the enhanced dress code. Our goal is to keep to a minimum the number of distractions in the learning environment.
