PARCC testing week is approaching very quickly! We will be testing during the week of March 12th through March 16th. You will take your English/Language Arts test in the morning and your Math test in the afternoon. You will report to your assigned advisory class for your test sessions.
Be sure to get plenty of rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and get to class on time!
Congratulations to Tayler W. for demonstrating all of the qualities of being a good citizen. Tayler found a debit card and immediately turned it in to an adult. Thank you, Tayler, for making good choices!
WELLNESS WAKEUP CALL
Pomegranates are red, baseball-sized fruits with a hard outer shell. The inside is filled with tiny pockets of juicy seeds that look like bright red teeth. The insides are so healthy that scientists study them to see how they make our hearts stronger & how they may prevent certain kinds of cancer. Drinking pomegranate juice can be good for you, but it is always better to eat the whole fruit than to only drink the juice, because drinking juice makes it too easy to get too many calories.
At JMS, we follow and enforce the District Dress Code Policy. Therefore, “hats, caps, bandannas, sweatbands, sunglasses, pajama pants, slippers, or shoes with wheels attached to the bottom shall not be worn in the buildings.”
In addition, jackets, sweatshirts, & hoodies should not be worn around the waist. Hoodies and jackets are not allowed in the classroom. Sweaters must be a solid color with no zippers or hoods. Layered shirts under your polo must be a solid color.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS
Students may NOT take photos or videos while on the school grounds. There are several JMS students who may not be photographed or videoed by law. If you are asked to stop or asked to surrender your phone, you must comply. If you do not, your parent/guardian will be called and will have to come to school.
You may only go to your locker before school, before lunch, after lunch, and after school. You may not go to your locker between classes. Be sure you are prepared for class!
You only have 12 bathroom passes per quarter. Use them wisely. Do not walk out of class if your teacher asks you to wait.
We are conducting hallway sweeps! Get to class on time. If you are tardy, you will be instructed to go to one of the offices where you will call your parent and then be issued consequences.
SCIENCE & HISTORY NIGHT
Come celebrate Science & History on Thursday, March 8th from 5:30-7PM! Can you create a candy catapult? Care to test your knowledge of March Madness geography? Can you spot "Fake News"? These activities and more await you!

This is a free Title I event.
