Students from grades 9-12 in the SUL 21st Century programs at Springfield and Lanphier High School will have the opportunity to become involved in a the SUL/4H FIRST Robotics Team. FIRST is a science and technology program geared "to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders, by engaging them into exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership." The University of Illinois Extention-Illinois 4-H is an educational youth organization helping young people develop knowledge and life skills. As a youth organization Illinois 4-H's mission is to help youth leran skills for living, because they value youth and their families. Illinois 4-H Curriculum focus on 4-H's three primary mission madcates: science, engineering, technology; health living; and citizenship. Events, practices, competitions, and workshop will be held throughout the duration of the year.
