Lanphier was invited to the state house to hear the winners for Operation Teen Safe Driving (OTSD) from Region 4. Students attending were Montana Mauer, Marly Roate, Lindsey Leach, Eric Groetke, Brittany Barger, Dennis Shannon, Andrew Brant, Njia Daniels, and Allie Jenkins.

There was a judging criteria, and all were unique. The final rankings were:

1. Pekin HS
2. Quincy HS
3. Lanphier HS
4. Southeast HS
5. Beardstown HS (tie)
5. Dee-Mack HS (tie)

Lanphier students won $1500 to go to LEAP for after prom events. They also were invited bring up to 20 students to the Ride and Drive to be held at the Abraham Lincoln Airport on April 26 or April 27. All students will be participating, no one will be there just to observe. All attendees must have a valid driver's license or permit.
