The Communications and Broadcasting Academy has been developed in partnership with the State Journal Register, Capitol Radio Group and News Channel 20. Detailed information is attached; please take a minute to read. This academy will provide students with a broad perspective of the communication and broadcasting industries; they will be involved in real-life activities and complete a final project such as creating a commercial, public service announcement or developing and writing a news story.
I would greatly appreciate you sharing this opportunity with your students and encouraging them to participate. Sessions are held on a few days schools are not in session, one evening and several Saturdays. I truly believe the students will learn a great deal from this experience AND have a lot of fun!
Also, Brandi Moore from the Capitol Radio Group (753-5400) is eager to talk with students. If you would like her to visit your classroom, call her directly.
