During National Adult Education Week, Lawrence Education Center hosted a reception celebrating the successes of our students. Students, School District 186 staff, members of the community, and LEC faculty enjoyed acknowledging the achievements of individuals who have been impacted by the programs offered through the efforts of adult education programs.
National Adult Education Week is a Congressional Declaration which is the culmination of literacy advocacy and outreach. It is intended to raise awareness of the need for programs and services for adult learners. Lawrence Education Center, along with more than 100 other ICCB funded programs in Illinois, provides instruction to more than 123,000 adult education learners each year. Last year, Lawrence graduated 152 students.
