Stress Busters

On February 24th, Kimberly Luz, St Johns Hospital Outreach Coordinator, presented a Stress Busters workshop. Stress comes in many forms and how we deal with stress determines our emotional, physiological, and spiritual health. Each participant was given Stress Warning Signals and How Vulnerable Are You To Stress worksheets.
Discussion was held regarding the effects of stress on the body and mind.

Stress reducing techniques of belly breathing, shoulder rolling, and guided imagery were demonstrated during the workshop. Discussion was held on additional stress reducing activities, which includes reading, listening to music, dancing, exercise, praying, and writing.

The power of positive thinking greatly influences our perspective for the day. Start each day with one positive thought. Example of thoughts, “Today I want to make someone smile!” Also, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
