On January 27th, Jeff Pankey, Admission Representative of Lincoln College of Technology presented a workshop to prepare students for life after high school.
The importance of obtaining additional training was discussed and backed up with statistics. The starting pay for a person with additional education and skilled training is 25 to 30% more than a high school grad. The average person with additional education or skilled training school will double their pay within ten years.
Technical school trains the student in career specific areas. The technical school offers shorter courses and hands on training. There is new terminology for the technical worker, called the “Gold Collar Worker”. The gold collar worker is technology/computer driven and will be in demand for hire.
