We are excited to announce that our current 6th graders will be receiving laptops on December 4th! When the state did not fund the third and final year of the 1:1 computer grant, we pulled together our resources to purchase enough computers for each 6th grader. We earmarked our fall fundraiser income, the Springfield Public Schools Foundations, and our technology money to supplement the 60 laptops we already had in use at school. We told the students at an assembly this afternoon, and they showed their enthusiasm loudly! We will host a parent training on December 9th from 5:30-6:30. Parents should attend this meeting to learn about the computers, and to allow their student to take the computer home.
